Meet André
Welcome to André Johnson Psychotherapy Services!
I am a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
With over a decade of experience as a law enforcement officer, I have developed extensive expertise in addressing trauma and grief. I have a passion for working with youth (12-18) and have experience providing court-mandated anger management and domestic violence programs. I also offer parent coaching to help guardians and caregivers navigate life with their youth(s).
I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) degree at Yorkville University in 2024. In 2011, I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, minoring in psychology: brain and cognition, and political science. I understand the immense value of embarking on a mental health journey that focuses on self-care and resilience while balancing professional and personal demands.
Using a strength-based approach, I mainly draw on Person Centred Therapy (PCT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help those who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, racial trauma, grief, low self-esteem, or general life stressors. I possess enhanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy, and first responder reintegration after traumatic incidents.
What are you going through? Let’s work together in a safe, non-judgmental space to overcome challenges, meet your needs, and live authentically. You are enough.
